Five easy steps to... BAFTA-inspired hair

Vera Farmiga’s updo was elegant but Matthew Soobroy for Charles Worthington updates it for those of us not walking down the red carpet.

The Orange British Academy Film Awards 2010 took place within the grandeur of the Royal Opera House and the A-list were out in force with R-Patz getting the loudest welcome to the red carpet up until Prince William rocked up and outdid him!

The ladies were elegant but understated with fresh complexions and low-key hairstyles taking centre stage. Claire Danes and Vera Farmiga stole our hearts with their smooth and sleek styles. Vera's chic side updo was what we've come to expect from the red carpet during the awards season but when would we ever need such a 'do? We took our dilemma to Matthew Soobroy, senior salon manager at the House of Charles Worthington who, although being dead on his feet from a weekend of tending to the rich and famous for the BAFTAs, showed us how to recreate Vera's look for Friday night out on the town rather than a classic red carpet event.
