If you are anything like us, you will already be dreaming of your next holiday – and there's no better way to get through the winter blues than by booking your Spring holiday now!
For complete relaxation, a bit of adventure and heaps of delicious food, we recommend the D-Hotel Maris in Turkey.
This resort hotel is perfect for anyone who needs to completely unwind and be pampered for a few days, plus it's one of the few hotels that look as good in real life as it does in pictures.
Located just an hour from nearest airport Dalaman, the D-Hotel sits on a Datca Peninsula cliff top and overlooks the beautiful turquoise Aegean Sea.
The gardens are so vast, you have to choose between a lift, golf buggy or boat to get down to the beach, but that's fine because there's always someone on-hand to take you there.
It also boasts four separate beaches, a huge indoor spa, two swimming pools, a fully-equipped gym, cinema and a water-sports centre.
So, if you're worried you might get a bit bored cooped up in one spot, think again. There's so much to do, the chances are, you'll want to stay longer just to try everything out.
D-Hotel Maris will open for its second season next April, which is when the weather in Turkey begins to sizzle again. Each of the 200 rooms are spacious with double bathrooms – and they all come with an incredible view over the gardens.
Private car transfers can be organised from Dalaman airport or if you're flying into Istanbul, you could request a pick-up by the hotel's helicopter. You're on holiday, why not make a Cheryl Cole-style entrance?
The staff here are super-keen on making sure you're looked after, too. So all you have to do is concentrate on completely chilling out.
Where to Eat…
There are four restaurants to choose from at the hotel. We recommend the The Bay, which serves up buffet-style food all day on the beach.
If seafood is your thing, try the lobster at The Breeze, while Spice serves up an Asian fusion-style treat, with everything from sushi and noodles to Ottoman style kebabs on the menu.
Breakfast on The Terrace comes in the form of a large buffet – with toast, eggs, cold meats, cereals and fruits on offer. There is even a dietary table for anyone with allergies or food intolerances.
You won't get tired of sampling D-Hotel's seven bars. The Aqua beach bar is where you are likely to spend your days, while we suggest the glam' El Vino for a wine before dinner.
The Coliseum is an outdoor bar that plays chilled-out tunes late into the evening, so you can release you're inner hippy while relaxing and listening to the waves lapping nearby.
If you fancy escaping these idyllic surroundings for the day, you'll find more beauty just an hour and half away in Datca. The best way to get there is on a yacht, which the hotel can organise for you – and once there, you'll be able to shop for souvenirs at Datca's buzzing markets and bazaars.
If you're feeling adventurous when you get there, jump in a taxi to Knidos (just one kilometre away), where you can explore the ruins of the ancient Greek city.
If there's one thing to try while at D-Hotel Maris, it's the water-sports. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, the sail and surf centre will happily take you out for lessons or rent out equipment.
Finally, for a relaxing evening, grab a box of warm, fluffy popcorn from the cart and a comfy leather couch at the hotel's built-in cinema for a classic film like Casablanca or The Sound of Music. Perfect.
Rooms at D-Hotel Maris start from €360 (approx. £295) per night, including VAT and breakfast. Flights with EasyJet are approximately £170, depending on time of travel.
