The world's first Twitter experience hotel has launched, allowing guests to flirt, buy drinks and send virtual kisses to someone's sun lounger.
For the opposite of a tech-free holiday, The Sol Wave House Hotel on Magaluf Beach in Majorca has launched its own virtual community called #SocialWave, allowing guests to flirt with one another without that whole awkwardness of actually having to speak.
Eager guests looking for a holiday fling log-in via Twitter to access the app which is only available on the hotel's WiFi. From there they can check out who else is staying at the hotel, see where they are, send private messages, virtual kisses, and even make grand romantic gestures like ordering drinks to someone's sun lounger, or asking the hotel to fill up the mini bar in their room.
'Each Bali bed [around the pool] has a number, so if there's anyone sitting on the Bali bed you're interested in, and want to play, you use the hashtag for the Bali bed, like #BaliBed1, #BaliBed6,' the hotel's social media director Marco Fantón told Time.
If guests hit-it-off virtually, they can meet up in person at the hotel's #TwitterPoolParty on Fridays or have their own private party in one of the #TwitterPartySuites (a special room set up for four people with Champagne and balloons. Anyone else just read 'orgy room'?)
And if that isn't enough Twitter based antics, the hotel even offers blue Twitter themed cocktails for guests to slurp on while checking out the talent.
