Beyoncé has been unceremoniously banned from sightseeing around the Pyramids of Egypt after the 'Indiana Jones of Egypt' (aka Zahi Hawass) dubbed her behaviour "stupid and rude".
Queen B stopped off at the Pyramids in 2009, but she failed to impress Egypt's former head of antiquities, Zahi, who said she arrived late to a guided tour and acted like a "stupid person". Nice.
The archaeological expert apparently bad-mouthed the star to local reporters back in 2009, claiming she didn't understand a single thing of what she was been shown.
He told The Independent, "Most people I take on tours are very nice and we become friends. But this lady...She said she would come at 3pm but she came late. I said "You have to say I'm sorry I'm late". But she didn't open her mouth."
Hawass apparently made up his mind to ban Beyoncé from future visits when her official photographer lashed out.
He said, "I brought a photographer and she also had a photographer and a guard. When my photographer started to shoot, he said "No, Stop! I am the one who says yes or no, not you!
"I said: "In that case since you almost hit my photographer and you are not polite - out! I am not giving you the privilege of having you on my tour!" I said Beyoncé was stupid and I left."
In a bid to maintain her squeaky clean reputation, Bey issued a statement saying, "This never happened. The last time she was in Egypt was on tour in 2009. Nothing like this happened. Lies and more lies."
As a mini-celebrity in his own right, Hawass has a bit of a reputation of *ahem* bending the truth. He is even being investigated by the US Justice Department for allegedly accepting a $200,000-a-year from National Geographic to allow the magazine access to the Pyramids.
