As we speak, American's are preparing for the big Memorial Day Weekend (25-27 May), which officially marks the start of the summer season.
In New York City, it heralds the re-opening of Governors Island, the re-launch of the Red Hook Summer Ferry service and the opening date for the 14 miles of public beaches that many visitors may not even realise lie within the city limits.
Here, NYC & Company, the official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation for New York City, has revealed some of the top summer attractions and events to help you make the most of the five boroughs; from Manhattan, The Bronx and Brooklyn to Queens and Staten Island.
