If you want to mollycoddle your mother without breaking the bank, Thoresby Hall Hotel and Spa offers great value for money. It\'s a stunning building in acres of parkland, but this budget hotel offers good value spa-ing at sensible prices. There\'s a pool, steam room and bubbly hydrotherapy pool. We loved the impressive relaxation room with flagstone floor, glass roof and water-beds.

Best for... city centre bliss

You could spend hours at One Spa and not get bored. Sit in the rooftop pool and feel your cares float away. Wind down in the extensive heat-and-ice facilities. Sip a smoothie.
