Hi sorry I've not replied. Feeling pretty pants again. I stupidly thought going on a date would help me a little bit, I didn't expect anything from it and I wasn't looking for something serious...but it turned out to be a total disaster. It was a guy from work and well through work he had always seemed so nice and funny etc but turned out that outside work it was totally different. He asked me out...and well I didn't assume he would pay for anything but I just thought that's what happened, haven't been on a date in a while. Not only did he order for me, he let me pay the bill and put down two pounds for a tip. He booked the back row of the cinema...and made a joke about it. He told me a story about feeling up another girl and I honestly didnt realise what I had gotten myself into.

Then when I got home my ex ex phoned me because we had recently started talking, Ive told him the same thing many times that Im not looking for anything which he accepts but he told me he's changed so much, we went out when I was 15 and he was 17, now he is 22 and im 20. He told me he'll wait for me no matter how long it takes but I dont know. I just right now dont feel like I'll ever feel the way did about my  ex for anyone else.

I feel a tad better just now but the whole date thing etc really scared me, I just dont know how to go about this stuff anymore, and if someone else tells me to get over my ex again I'm going to explode :( x

Sheesh :)

I think it is probably far too soon to even consider going dating right now. You've got a lot to work through: a relationship ending and a friend betraying you. Just steer clear from men and lick your wounds for a bit. As for the ex ex, probably not the best idea talking to him either! You just need good friends around you, not anyone who's going to complicate the issue.

People are right in that you do have to get over your ex but blimey I think it's a bit early for them to be saying it! Have you got some good nonjudgemental friends you can talk to?

I thought I did, my parents right now have gone away on holiday and a couple of them were meant to come over and keep me company...yet that hasn't happened. Ive just tried to get over things but I dunno what Im going to do anymore. Everyone I know seems to have a boyfriend and it just seems for a lot of people they take pride of place over friends, maybe that is just how it is.

I hate moaning so much and thats all ive done over the past three months now but i just cant help it :( I do really appreciate your past advice, because I just dont feel like im getting it at home. My friend did comment that she thought I was doing really well but I dont feel like it :(

I want to take up some sort of hobbie but I dont know what sort... any ideas ? x

Sheesh :)

Scuba diving? That's my new hobby...just don't end up messing around with your instructor...or at least check he's single BEFORE the messing...not a few weeks later...

A physical hobby would probably be best as you can get some aggression out of your system (not that you sound like an aggresive person..but your anger at him) what about boxing? any new hobby will also bring around new friends which is always a good thing!

What about some voluntary work? Helping out at a local animal shelter or hospital or something like that? It's a great way to meet nice people and you'll feel good about yourself too!

I'd agree with Dekalin, Voluntary work would give you the feel good factor as well. which is invaluble :)

And as for the swimming thing...it's not quite like swimming as you use the fins...also, you've got your bouyancy jacket which you can fill using the tank or if there was a serious problem (like you've run out of air) you can manually inflate it, so no problems about...drowning...lol
not that you'd ever run out of air, when you're diving you check how much air you've got every 2 mins anyway.. :D

Aw doll....I have just read this entire thread! I feel so for you! I know its difficult but you might not realise it now...but everything that has happenend to you will shape you as a person and make you stronger. You will look back one day and remember how much it all hurt but by then you would of over come it. Look at your relatonship with your ex as a  chapter in your life that you now have to close and move on to the next one. Life has its own plan for you and I really believe everything happens for a reason. Stay strong and take care x

I was in the exactly same situation as you just over a year ago so i know how difficult it is.. practically all of my friends have boyfriends and they always seemed too busy to do anything or wud bring their bfs along with them which i hated! For me, i focused on going out with the few single friends i had and decided that being single wasnt that bad after all! do you have any other friends you can talk to? As for hobbies.. how about joining the gym if u havent already? keeps you fit and provides a focus on yourself instead of other people.. also what about dancing, salsa or something like that? that way you get to meet new people, get fit and have a good time!
Things will get better! Smilexx

Oh Babe, big hugs to you. The date guy sounds like a complete biff!  Unfortunately there are a lot of them out there.  Your ex has obviously stomped all over your feelings and heart without a minutes thought, my ex did that to me too....BUT I have just recently met a lovely lovely guy who makes me laugh again when I thought I never would again.  This will happen for you too, time is a healer you just have to ride it out, just think each day that goes by is a day closer to feeling great again.  You will get there, I promise.  Stay strong hunny xx
