I registered with POF in April.

I have a friend who is also registered, and we've going to their Karaoke night at a local pub tomorrow.  I've also managed to rope another friend into going to.

I've had a look at the men who are attending, and there appears to be only one halfway decent bloke going, so he's going to be popular.  I was also messaging/chatting to one man of POF, asked him if he wanted to come. He initially said yes, but I haven't heard from him since...

Anyone ever been to a singles night, and is speed dating still going?

A couple of years ago I went speed dating, and I have been to a more formal singles night. It is easy to just chat with your friends, so you need to try and force yourself to branch out a little more.

I've been speed dating before - I found that the actual event part you tended to speak to your friends but when we went to the bar downstairs after the event everyone was a little bit more chatty.  If nothing else, it's quite a good fun night out. :)

Well, it turned out to be an ok night after all.  Except the DJ played music from the 60's/70's/Northern Soul, which I don't like.

The karaoke singers were very good, and I chatted to a few ppl, just chatting nothing else.

One man put my age as "early 20's", which was quite an ego-boost. He didn't say it cos he fancied me, as he only had eyes for the friend I was with.
