Hi Ceammi

It will have to be the person above the course leader. I don't know who this person is but I think I know how to find out.

The course leader is just at fault as the inexperienced person - he passed it on to the inexperienced person who thought that things were wrapped up last week.

I'm paying for the course to answer your question but I don't really want to sign on next year - having a photo updated just because my chin is starting to sag through age and my grey strands is humiliating. Oh they take it off computer webcams now - years ago a professional photographer did it.

pf, sorry to disagree with ceammi, but don't take it too high too soon. The response you'd be likely to get would be have you taken it to the dept head, and if not, why not, then they wouldn't do anything until you had.
However, your dept head should be made aware that you are suffering through the negligence of not one, but two of his staff - the tutor who originally told you you'd passed; and the internal who is not giving you the details of what you did wrong or omitted, and who is also not giving you time to rectify their mistake.
I'm glad you're going in. Follow the chain of command, one at a time, and don't be fobbed off.

BJx

HI BJ

Yes I'm going in tomorrow as there will be bound to be people shaking at the thought of PF demanding to see someone.

I did that last week actually and got a response from a stressed internal verifier.

I had other plans to be elsewhere but I'm sure that these people will understand.

I agree with the two culprits - the tutor who originally passed me and the internal one who promised me a fully detailed report on Monday. I've been by the computer in my shorts and no email from him since last Thursday.

The internal should have give me ample time to rectify the errors on the report but leaving it late in the week makes me panic tbh with you.

Its not really fair as I should have finished by now. Hopefully there will be news tomorrow.

Can you ask for an extension on those grounds? It might end up benefiting other students as well as your tutors....
Good luck and I hope it gets resolved for you, I know how it feels to be given crappy advice and then have problems with the uni. You just feel like everyones against you, don't you?

Hi everyone

Update: after me saying that I would write a letter of complaint to the college the tutor has gone back to me.

He said that there are so many errors like grammatical ones as I have a prelingual hearing loss sometimes I have trouble with English.

The tutor would like it back by Tuesday but realises that time limit is very short so he said if I don't complete it by Tuesday then I can have an extension until 4th Aug.

The tutor is on holiday as from Tuesday so he got the incompetent one to cover for him!

I'll let you know how I'm getting on but hopefully by 4th Aug the college should let the examining body know.

Glad things look like they are moving a bit and it's good that you have been given an extension till August too.  Can you not ask for additional support to help you with the grammar side of things?

HI Kinsk

I'm thinking of asking my contact in Special Needs at college to have a word with someone.

You never know that someone in his office may be able to help given the prelingual problem of mine.

I am now aiming for the 1st wknd in August as theres so much to do in a short space of time. I will be able to focus and work on it.

I'm not upset now as I have had time to think. People have been supportive to me over this. I've had one hell of a week at work as well but thankfully its the weekend!

Hey PF !
Jeez, you're just asking for someone to do their job. Not much to ask for really.
Hope things get sorted for you, sounds like its on its way.
I'm off for a bit now, but keep us posted about things.
My fingers are crossed for you x

You and I, shall be friends until we are old and senile.
Then, we shall be NEW friends !!

I think you should definitely do that, sometimes we have to fight for what we want.  Having read your blog it has made me aware of some issues I hadn't thought of and so I can appreciate why things like grammar may be more difficult for you, which is why I think you should ask for additional support.

Glad to hear that you are less stressed about it though and if work are being supportive that must help.

Hope you have a good weekend x

Kinsk

It was my circle of friends not work - they are such lovely people.

Anyway yes its worth it contacting the Special Needs office until the internal person picked it up I had not thought that my English grammar was up to the examining body standard.

One bright spot I have English O Level but I find it difficult to express myself in stressful situations. My maths is definitely stronger than my English as I have Maths A level!

I'll definitely keep you peeps up to date.
