I know I haven't been involved in this thread, but from I can see it all looks positive with him so stop worrying! And I wouldn't mention the spot thing because he probably won't even notice!! xx

Definitely stop worrying! You're overdoing it a bit now on panicking and I'm sure you have no need!

I would be panicking even if he wasn't coming because of the spots ... I want to look good at my party not minging... I am VERY funny about spots because I've had so many problems with my skin in the past and really am quite obsessional about it which I freely admit.

It's pissing it down up there so he's driving down tomorrow. Prob just as well or I wouldn't get the early night that I need.

Hi Lils,

Everyone else has given fabby responses so I won't go there but, as a past acne sufferer: DON'T pre warn him/anyone about the spots! If they're polite, they won't say a thing and your skin need not be a conversation piece. If you bring it up, it will only make people stop, look at your skin, examine for spots and notice whereas they might not have given them a fleeting thought before.

I know they can seem HUGE and it can feel like people must be noticing and being kind by not saying anything etc but they're not bothered!

I'm lucky, my acne has cleared and I only occasionally get spots so i know how you feel but my favourite quote from the cheesiest chick flick of all time (Miss Congeniality) really puts spots into perspective:
"Everything, is not about you."
People are too busy with their own concerns to think abut yours.
I've said too much, just because I really know where you're coming from and really don't want you obsessing over this.

Hey Lily,

Haven't posted here in aaaagggggeeesss (but now doing a nine to fiver so lots of time to Net Procrastinate)

I concur with everything everyone has said and I think you've done the right thing and am dead chuffed for you!! (also sounds like its gonna be a hum-dinger of a party with people clocking off work to come - popular lady!)

I just thought I'd go for the ego-boost suggestion this end - have you ever considered that he didn't want to stay with 'us lot' because one look at your gorgeous self and he'd want to rip yer clothes off?! Maybe he can't stand the thought of having to share a room/floor/tent/airbed/hay bale with a bunch of (probably lovely) people when your inches/metres/one room away from him in yer sexy nightie?!

Just thought that might help you as you swan around next Saturday playing the swish hostess - I bet he'll be watching your every move even while he makes polite conversation with all your mates!

Hoorah!

Lottie. x

Oh Lottie you have made me laugh! Laughing I'd not really considered that ... I think that he is capable of restraining himself, I'm not Angelina Jolie by any stretch of the imagination so I don't drive men crazy in that respect, but it did make me snigger. He is a sweetie though.

Thanks for the skin advice KB. It helps that someone understands.  You didn't say too much - you said just enough!Kiss

I'm glad to hear (but not surprised!) that he's still coming Lily.
And don't mention the spot it'll make you sound about 12.  Everyone gets the odd spot it's not big deal, he probably won't even notice it

I've been looking at my chin every 7 minutes so reread KB's post to keep myself calm. I hate how I'm still so dependent on what my skin does!

I also like the fact that you're not surprised he is still coming - he must come across better than I think, poor lad.
