I hired a carpet cleaner from B&Q yesterday. I cleaned my carpets last night, and the colour of the water that came out was disgusting. It was pure black!!! Cant believe my carpets were that bad, but they look good now Kiss

Lol is that the rug doctor? They give your carpet a deep clean, it's underlying dirt that you can't see. When we do our carpets they are horrible especially since we have two dogs running about

What would you recommend for a big acrylic rug (looks wool - shaggy white rug)?

No dry cleaners will clean and foam cleaner does naff all.....help! (also gotta be careful as dont want to make it frizzy from scrubbing!)

Yep it was the rug doctor. I just moved my sofa back. My tv and fish tank was too heavy to move, so i just went round them.

The machine is just like a vacuum cleaner you just run it up and down your carpets. When you cant see any more water going through, then its time to change the water. The machine take 10 litres of water, and i had to change the water 8 times. That mean i got 80 litres of disgusting c*ap out of my carpets!!!!!  It really was disgusting the colour of the water.

Poke -it welcome back. I'm sure this would work on your rug, it doesnt produce that much foam

Ive definitely turned into a domestic goddess, just tried to make scones, although they have turned out horribly wrong, and im going to have to throw them all out

Pretend they're not scones. My grandma used to make scones and then lie and say they were rock buns.

Thanks for info about Rug Doctor, my carpets need a damn good clean (and my family are coming for Christmas dinner this year) but I've been reluctant to hire a cleaning machine as I was a bit 'scared' to.

Sounds simple from what you say.
