A Swedish friend of mine used to make a similar thing by adding Foxes mints style sweets to a bottle of vodka.  Seemed rather vile to me but skittles might be better.

Must try the water melon thing to impress at my next "dinner party" (i.e. a couple of friends over for dinner).  Doesn't it just leak everywhere once cut up?  Do you freeze it at all?

/I know none of you are here any more any way.../ :-(

Do try it! You could also add raspberries/whatever fruit to eat with the vodka watermelon. Sounds delicious!

i had thought that you cut a hole in the top of the watermelon and then stuck straws in, but maybe thats just the way 16 year olds do it, which is how old i was last time i had one!!

"and that's all i have to say about that..."

We used to put jelly babies into the vodka when I was at uni. I suspect the Skittles work similarly. I think it's Delia who does a vodka tomato recipe:

Get some decent vodka, a tub of cherry tomatoes, some salt and some cayenne pepper. Cut little crosses in the bottom of all the toms and immerse them in the vodka for 24 hours. Mix the cayenne and salt together and dip the toms in it! It's potent! I suppose it's like an edible Bloody Mary.
