Yes yes it's only thursday but I'm off in a minute. At York races this weekend troughing and slurping. Well actually the troughing and slurping starts tonight at the hotel, then races tomorrow where there will be the lovelyist seefood table, champagne flowing and the hugest selection of cheeses I see all year. Have the most ridiculously high heels to try and balance on all day which could be an issue. Back on Saturday though and probably wont need to eat for the rest of the weekend, although just had a load of broad beans in todays veg box so if I can get hold of some peas (or may just leave them out) will be doing the mashed pea bruschetta thing - blitz them with some parmesan, pepper, sour cream or creme fraiche and either basil or mint, lemon juice and spread on some lightly toasted crusty type bread, nom, nom - even better topped with some buffalo mozarella and crispy proscuitto. OOhh I haven't posted on a weekend thread for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages! Have fun at the races Kinsk! I managed to coax my friend away from them so that he can come to my birthday party :) I am 21 tomorrow!! I have dedicated a whole weekend to my great self, as I figure I'm not going to get a chance to, until I'm 40 or something. So Friday I will be meeting my oldest friend for drinks and a big catch up, as she can't make anything else at the weekend. Then I'm going clubbing with roughly 20 other people. The theme is military/pink and it's looking like it's going to be all very silly and drunk and fun. Then, after just a few hours sleep I will be getting up to prepare a picnic to have on Wimbledon common, with roughly the same people. The theme is again Military/Pink, and we will be having a large game of field marshall and drinking lots more. Then an evening of pubbing and relaxing for sunday, when I have the family do, which will be a lunch buffet of all my favourite dishes, followed by a huge cake from William Curley. I'm not going to have time to recover, and I'm back at work on Monday!!! Noooo!!! I've just had two weeks off, I think I should have had the two weeks after this weekend. Hope everyone has good ones xx |

Sounds great Kinsk! Enjoy your birthday Libbs :) We're off to Kilkenny this weekend. We were there last weekend and I bought some new jeans. Having tried on two different sizes I bought the wrong ones so have to go swap them on Saturday. Have been hearing great things about this place http://www.rinuccini.com/ so we're going to stop in for an early bird on the way home. Nothing planned for Sunday, might head out to the beach if it's nice. Enjoy your weekends everyone :) |

This is the first weekend for about a month where I haven't got any concrete plans, sorry to be boring. Hopefully on Saturday I'll be going walking, followed by a bucket of red somewhere, and Sunday will be spent catching up on all the housework that has been sorely neglected for about 4 weeks :slovenly: kinsk have a fab day at the races (your 'seefood' table - was that a typo and you meant prawns and stuff, or did you mean as in the old joke about being on the seafood diet: see food and eat it? ;) lol) libbs - happy birthday!!! :lotsofbirthdaysmilies: Your weekend sounds fun, hope it's great. Happy Birthday Libbs! I sort of started my weekend yesterday even though I am at work today. Went to see the man and he actually made a curry  , it's always been heat in the oven food before. Very nice it was too.Tonight going to see a friend who is now permanently back in the UK having spent 4 years in India. I haven't seen her for over a year so I can't wait to see her. She is also going to tell me how to make her Morroccan Chicken Tagine thing that she made up, never had it but it sounded lovely. So gossip and vino is most definitely on the cards. Nothing exciting planned for the weekend otherwise, just the usual long list of things to do, gym and swimming. Have a good weekend all

Happy Friday everyone!  I haven't written on a weekend thread for ages either! Tonight I'm baking a cake for a friends birthday tomorrow   Any chocolate cake / topping recipes would be appreciated. Last time I made one and used a James Martin recipe for the cake (which was pretty good but could have been better) and cheated with Betty Crocker icing as I ran out of time  No idea what I'm cooking for dinner. Haven't got a lot in other than salad so it will probably be whatever catches my eye at the shop when I go to buy cake ingredients. I keep cravinglamb at the moment so maybe some lamb steaks. Tomorrow I'll be heading to my wakeboarding lake  We're going to be camping tomorrow night  so all food for the rest of the weekend will come off a BBQ! All lovely weekends lined up. Wakeboarding sounds cool Nat J! Tonight making Leon Gobi for dinner and then some white chocolate & raspberry muffins for a pic-nic tomorrow. Sunday I am making an almond and rasberry tart. Other than that, no plans for food. |
