Ziggurat - you're right, we've both lost them at 5 weeks. I am very much hoping that I'm "super-fertile" this month and of course my OH is eagerly anticipating double hormones! ;-)

I'm so sorry, MissDem - can't believe it.  Sounds like you have the right attitude - it's trite, I know, but at least you know all is in working order, so def get started again as soon as you feel ready.

 to both of you.

There were never any problems with dating my post m/c pregnancy, they booked me in for a  scan a couple of weeks after I went to the docs and said I was pg, and the date the sonographer calculated was exactly the same as the date I had (making me 7+2 at the time of the scan). The only downside was that I then didn't get a 12 week scan (as this one is only for dating, and as far as they were concerned, I'd been dated already).

I also had a terrible drs appt when I first fell pregnant after the m/c, with a complete git of a doctor who basically sat there and laughed at me and said I couldn't possibly be pregnant and how silly I was to think I could be, and anyway how did I know I'd had a m/c in the first place (erm well the satsuma sized lump of tissue that came out of me was some indication). Pig. I did change surgeries immediately after that I have to say! The dr at the new surgery referred me straight to the m/w over the phone, didn't even want to see me and never questioned it, neither did the m/w.

I did continuously test from the m/c right through to the second pregnancy (using pound shop tests) so that I had had negative tests inbetween, so I knew when I started getting positive tests again that it was a new pregnancy and not remaining hormones from the old one, this might be a good idea.

lupinlady - wtf?  What on earth did that man say to you?  I'm aghast he could be that insensitive.  My doctor was lovely, both the one on call when I phoned the surgery in the evening and also my regular lady GP.  Neither of them questioned my pregnancy.

I don't think I can have been as far on as you - but I have had a couple of people say "oh well you were very early, lots of women don't even know at that stage".  That stings.  It feels as though they're taking away my right to feel sad just because I can count to 35. :(

I agree, that's a bloomin awful way to make someone feel. LupinLady, I can't believe the nerve of that gp!
