Can anyone tell me what extra items to take into hospital for a c-section, is it going to be just the same as a normal labour just extra changes of clothes for me and the little one? Is there anyone who has had c-section who can advise me on extra things that might come in handy?

Thanks v much!

I can't really advise what to bring for the labour as mine was so quick I laboured in the clothes I walked in and used nothing else but afterwards my list would be:

Camera with lots of spare memory (make sure you get a photo of the three of you, it's so easy to just take pictures of each other with the baby)
Vest and sleep suit for baby after birth
Toiletries for showers including flip flops
Big proper knickers in size bigger than your normal (make sure they have a 'flat gusset for the pads')
Maternity pads - lots (I used two at a time at the beginning as one just leaked over the edges)
Slippers for walking around the wards (ones which you're happy to throw as you'll not want to keep them after they've been all in the loos in the hospital)
Dressing gown for walking around the ward (esp. if you realise you've leaked onto pjs like I did, you'll want to be able to hide it on the way to the showers!)
A few chocolate bars for afterwards, hospital food is grim
Nappies
Two vest and sleepsuits for baby
Blanket and baby hat for going home in (depending on the time of year)
A couple of nighties/pjs (my nighties weren't feeding ones but pulled down fine, you've curtains all the way round you)
Hubby bought me in a magazine and newspaper the next day as you can't look at baby all day!
Arnica tablets for bruising
Clothes for coming home in, comfy maternity tracksuit bottoms :)

Someone mentioned ibroprofen, I don't think this can be used if you are planning on breastfeeding but paracetamol is ok. I was lucky and didn't really need any, it would have been nice but I felt that as I was breastfeeding unless I really needed it I didn't want to take it.

With regards to the nursing bras, if you go into mothercare a week or so before you're due they will measure you and let you know which size is best.

Good luck girls!

If you get the chance, have a look at the placenta.  The midwife showed us where Finley had lived for the past nine months and it was quite interesting!
