L  -  Bagel, v low fat (yuk) soft cheese & smoked salmon Posted by doitagain

The phili light isn't really much higher point wise than the phili extra light you know.  With the smoked salmon or any salmon for that matter if you can get wild alaskan go for it, it has much less saturated fat, I worked it out that for a salmon steak you save at least 3 points.

Damanda I completley agree with you on the ww products they aren't actually that great value for points.  I'm sure the ww beans are the same point wise if not more than heinz.  If ready meals are what gets you through tescos have started and sainsburys used to, not sure if they still do, put ww points on their healthy range meals and they are much nicer, well as nice as you can get.

If you like lasagne have a look at the healthy eating sticky I'm sure I put a mousakka type recipe on there, you will get a huge plate of food for 6-7 points.

Excersise wise is the very reason I have got stuck for so long, in fact it's the reason I piled on the weight in the first place.  I used to be very active - looking after 5 horses every day, riding at least 2 a day, swimming twice a week, all this steadily ground to a halt due to a back injury.  Every time I thought my back was sorted I'd try and get back to normal, couldn't, sulk, feel sorry for myself, give up and trough.  We can all come up with how and why, it's coming up with a plan to move forward, there are certain forms of exercise I can do and some I can't, it's the focusing on what you can that kicks you up the bum, focusing on the can't leads to the why bother.

Saying all that dreading the first night back at weigh in tomorrow after so many weeks skiving.

doitagain, 1lb is still 1lb as you said - double the amount I managed this week. i'm exactly the same as you I would love to lose a stone in 8 weeks but i'm 6.5lbs to go with only 3weeks...lets hope for a miracle!!

I'm making sure that I eat all of my points this week, but it seems odd to me to eat if I'm not hungry and although I understand the thought process 6 small meals a day for me just isn't an option far too much planning and too little opportunity to make it happen. I'm consciously including more fruit into my diet most of my meals have at least 2 portions of veg in them so hoping the fruit should made a difference.

Today I had:
WW chilli and pasta - 7pts
Banana - 2pts
Heinz beans and sausages and 2 bread - 9pts
Mini Milky Way -3pts
2 bottles of Bud - 3pts
TOTAL - 24pts exactly!

Not the healthiest day of my life by any stretch of the imagination...Tesco shopping day tomorrow...

Does anyone have any low point cakes recipes? I've been on the WW website but the only ones that jump out at me are Carrot Cake muffins but they are 4.5pts each so I'm hoping for some a bit lower in point value...any ideas?

Hi Damanda ... I hear exactly what you're saying and although we all know it's true - it's sticking  to it all that's the most difficult.  I binge eat, I eat when I'm not hungry just for the sake of it, I eat when bored oooo I could go on and on - it's getting on and STAYING on the right track.  O've yo-yoed for years ... getting down to 8 1/2 stone (through almost starvation) I've  done diet pills and once I get the weight off, I go straight back to old eating habits and put it all back on and more.

This time though I'm hoping to re-adjust the way I eat and lose the weight and hopefully keep it off.
I do exercise, and I have to say I  quite enjoy it .. I do 2 very high impact lessons a week  now and I use my lateral thigh machine 3-4 mornings for 30 mins and even though  I'm starting my 7th week at WW - I see a  difference in the way my clothes fit so that keeps me motivated.

As a  rule, I don't eat fruit (yes I know it's bad) but I love veg .. hate salad, so I try and eat a lot of steamed veg with most meals (unless it's a  gym night and then I'll have to have something real quick as I don't get in until 9:30)

Kinsk - thanks for that about the Philly ... it was bloody horrid yesterday I threw the packet away when I got home.

KB  -  I've used this web site http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/ginas-weight-watcher-recipes for quite a  few recipes  and I can highly recommend it as  she's worked out all the points for you.

I also don't buy the WW tinned stuff ... when I was in Morrisons I compared their Eat Smart range  of spaghetti (small tin) with WW and it actually has less points.  As does their cheapest cheap ready made custard at 18p and less points than any other .... goes nice if you fancy a pudding :  make up some sugar free Harleys jelly (0), put some tinned fruit (in own juice)  in the bottom (0.5) - a couple  of tablespoons of the cheap custard (0.5) and  squirty cream (0.5) on the top and you have a  trifle for 1.5 points :-)  (I make the jelly up in the plastic throw away cups so I can take them with me)

I struggle with water too.  The only way I can do it is to fill a 1.5 litre bottle up every day and make sure by the time I've finished work it's gone, if it's sat there on my desk where I can see it and see how far down I am I can do it.

LOL,    Don't i know it. The physio asked if i wanted to see the nutritionist. I said "not unless they thought she needed some help". I know exactly what healthy diet looks like.  I JUST DON'T DO IT! and that frustrates the hell out of me about myself.
I eat for any reason you can think of  because I'm sad, angry, bored, hurt, happy, because its time to eat, because i have cooked something........ being hungry has got nothing to do with my eating.
BUT for me its also about my movement or lack of it. So I am gradually taking baby steps.

Anyway, we are all trying so I will help any of you and be there for you and I hope you will be the same. Good God I sound like an American! Laughing
I just popped by to see how KB did at WI. I will look it later.

So I have one for myself- To loose 2st by mums 80th birthday on 31st July. So that is 17 lbs more in 7 weeks. That should be doable.

My WI day is Monday so this week only lost 0.5lb hence me tracking like mad this week and attempting to eat all my points. i've had a good couple of days, saving a few points per day (3-4) for this weekend so hoping for a good result on Monday evening...

This evening i have to figure out what to have at a family buffet - minefield! Going to avoid pastry, cakes and dips at all cost, hoping for some salad cold meat and potatoes so i don't blow this week out the water.

Looking forward to next week, back on early shifts so i get into a better routine and also the sun is rumoured to be making an appearence - i also make healthier choices in the sun - salad instead o creamy pasta...haha!

have a lovely weekend guys =)
