Is any diet permanent?

The key to me going on this diet plan is to lose weight over a short period of time and retrain my eating habits, its also going to give me the motivation I so desperately needed to kickstart my weight loss and start eating healthy again.

My diet is.
and so it should be permanent if you want to sustain your goal weight and continue your healthy ways.

You might be retraining you eating habits but are you retraining your lazy ways not to prepare healthy foods.

I for one would not recommend this approach.
If you want to lose weight and get fit and healthy then YOU have to do it

[FONT=Arial]Does it really matter? Yes, it's expensive and yes it is lazy, but I think there is an educational point to this. The OP will get to eat lots of new healthy foods that she might not have previously considered, she'll learn normal portion sizes and just new ideas for meals.

It might not be the cheapest option, or even the best option but as long as Laura takes something away from it she'll be fine. Plenty of celebrities have diet meals prepared for them, it's no different and at least it's not faddy.

Good luck, and I hope you have every success :)

But after? I bet you any money her diet will not improve in the long term if she's as lazy as she claims to be.

[FONT=Arial]I know, I know.

I just think at least it is a step in the right direction, and I can kind of see where she is coming from. I'm an optimist at heart, and I just think that after eating such lovely, healthy food why would you want to go back to eating rubbish?

Its the same for any convenience food it will be a little more expensivethe food tastes great has no artificial colourings or flavours, just wholesome fresh food thats delivered to your door :)

Last night Asda delivered a big box natural, fresh , wholesome food to my door, enough to feed two of us for a fortnight and it cost 60 :meh:

If it really is too much effort thinking of what to eat don't tesco diets do a thing where you pick a meal plan and they do they shopping list for you and they deliver it to your door? Costs between 1.50 and 3 a week :meh:

I agree with you in that it is a step in the right direction. I'm not one for knocking people when they are trying to make healthy changes but I really don't see the point of spending such a crazy amount of cash on having meals delivered to your door - it really baffles me!

Surely, researching on the internet will teach you about what a healthy diet consists of. However, the OP admits to being lazy and as awful as it sounds, until she stops being lazy, nothing is going to be successful in the long term. If you can't even commit to making healthy meals for yourself how can you expect to stay healthy in the long term?

I know how much of a ball ache it can be being organised and planning healthy food - I was steaming broccoli at 6am this morning so that I could re-heat it quickly in my lunch break  But I think being committed enough to do that will see me through this in the longterm.

If the OP decides to stick to it for a few weeks just to get an idea for meals, calories, etc then fair enough but IMO, the quicker she starts preparing her own food the better.
If you've lost your faith in love and music, the end won't be long...

Actually, have just been thinking about this as I prepare my veg for dinner, for 90 a week I could eat very well 3 times a day plus healthy snacks, and have two personal trainer sessions in the gym! :faint:

I could probably spend about that much on food in one week (for myself and boyfriend) because I'm always just "popping in" to the various shops around where I work to pick up "just one or two things" :o - however, I am also forever stockpiliing things so I think if I only did meat/fruit & veg/dairy shopping for a month I'd easily be able to get by on my store cupboard - in fact I really need to make a start on those as it is, it being a recession and all.....

I think it could be a useful way of kick-starting good eating habits.

However, a better way of doing it would be to find a plan (like the Tesco ones somebody mentioned) that involved easy to prepare meals and home-delivery.

How do the meals arrive? Do you just get them out of the box and stick them in the microwave, or do you have to chop veg etc?

I felt lazy because I was overweight, had to get up at 5:30am trying to make myself look nice and trying to squeeze into trousers that are 2 sizes to small. Getting home at 7.15 each night left me feeling tired all the time with no energy at all, so I just eat junk food because I just could not deal with the logistics of a dieting.

Since starting my fresh food home delivery diet, I feel great I have dropped a dress size, I am more energized and feeling much better about myself. This home delivery service is worth every penny I pay for it. I will be updating you all as I weigh myself this Friday.

Hope you are all feeling slimmer and happier :)

I would still recommend that you at least look into something like tesco Diets - does the same job at a fraction of the cost and will only take a few minutes to check out. It's great you are doing well but surely you would consider a lowest cost alternative  can't see any reason not to.
