I'm in shock. I refused to buy tickets for any date other than the first one on the tour because I didn't think he would be able to do so many dates but I didn't think it would end like this :-( |

My best friend rang me early this morning to tell me, i hadn't seen the news at all. I am very shocked and sad ,which surprised me too.I didn't think he would do his concerts but not because he would not be on this earth to do them! Very sad.  Brewster & Holly |

I feel in shock too, it's something I never thought about happening. His music was the soundtrack to my childhood  RIP.

Another one who is shocked - and more upset than I thought I'd be. I was a HUGE fan when I was younger, I had a MJ scap book and everything. Although I haven't followed him for years I admit to sheding a wee tear. Part of my childhood gone. Sad. |

I don't feel that shocked tbh. Such a bizarre life, it seems almost like this is the only way it would end. He looked so ill recently, I never believed he'd do those concerts, he didnt look capable. Well, RIP MJ. His poor kids... god I hope someone decent picks them up and takes them somewhere normal and private where they can grow up. |

I'm just shocked - my housemate woke me up at 2am to tell me! I think this is the first real 'death of a music legend' that my generation have dealt with, having grown up with his music it's just so hard to take in...

I was up last night so watched it all unfold but was slighty drunk having been out with friends earlier on the evening and wasn't that upset. One very messed up and lonely character but arguably brought happiness to millions of people across the world and changed the face of pop music. RIP Michael. |

It's as if he couldn't face 50 concerts. The mind and body just didn't hold out. What a sad end to a remarkable talent. It's a shame that talent so often goes hand in hand with tragedy and heart break. Maybe you can't have success without the sadness. Michael Jackson appeared so vunerable and his music and dance will be sorely missed. End of an era for several generations.
