Hi everyone, I've got darkish brown hair with a tint of red in it but I want to dye it a bright, vibrant red like the ones ive seen on the packs of Live XXL. The only problem is im a bit scared incase it comes out completely wrong or something because im sure it says that they are permanent and they don't do semi-permanent or temporary ones. Ive looked at other hair dyes but the colours don't seem as vibrant as the XXL. Has anyone ever used it or know anyone who has?

If you have dark brown hair it wont come out a particularly bright red unless you bleach it first. Red also fades pretty quickly. I think I tried one of those XXL ones on my hair (v dark brown) and it just gave it a slightly reddish sheen but nothing like the picture of the girl on the front of the pack.

Yep, same as Jellybabes. I've used the Live Colours Red a few times before - once on (my natural) blonde hair, which turned fire engine red and then faded abysmally, and then a few times over brown dyed hair. It gives your hair a dark red sheen but again, fades quite quickly.

I use Live XXL in no 43 Red Passion and have done for nearly a year. My hair is naturally dark blonde & I find the colour FANTASTIC! It stays really well, but it is so important to have a really good shampoo & not to wash your hair more often than necessary as this will make it fade faster.

I only have to dye my hair when my roots start to show & only then has the colour faded slightly!

Much, much better than some of the other brands I have tried ;o)
