Hi All,

Just want to ask if anyone has any experience of using this or any tips for me.  I have dark hair which I have always dyed myself.  I dyed it last year a brown and it went black.  It has taken till now to fade, but I just did my roots last week and it's gone really dark again.

I bought 2 packs of this as my hair is quite long.

I guess this is the only way of lifting the colour.

I have also bought a light brown to put over the top once I haved bleached it.  Should I wait a day or so to put this ontop of the lightener?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

If your hair is dark and you use the lightener, it may turn out orange (I know by experience!) - it depends on just how dark it is.  However, if you put light brown straight on to the bleached hair, you may find it turns a lovely sage green (again, known by experimenting!)    You need to introduce some shade of red back in before putting on brown.

May I suggest you cut off a lock and enjoy experimenting to see how the dyes affect your hair before committing to any extreme response from others not so adventurous e.g."whatthehellhaveyoudone?"Laughing

I'm far more careful now about how I introduce colour to my barnet!!

Good luck
Debs

Hi Debs,

Thanks for your advice. I approached this with caution and did a few test, they came out quite bright (orange!!), so I decided to do a soap/bleach cap insead.  My hair has definately lightened up and I would recommend this to anyone in the same predicament!

My hair still feels in pretty good nick, although wil be conditioning again tonight, and perhaps another soap cap at the weekend.

Cheers,
