Zara is introducing a new system that means popular items will never go out of stock.

Just when we thought that Zara's cheaper little sister Stradivarius launching in the UK was the best news ever, this happens.

Today Inditex SA (the chain's parent company) announced they were introducing a microprocessor-based tagging system in all Zara stores.

Basically, it will track items from factory to shop faster, meaning that as soon as an item runs out, a new delivery will be tailored to that particular store.

So say, if a celebrity wears a Zara dress and it sells out (we're looking at you Olivia Palermo), the store will pretty much immediately get more in.

This will be rolled out at the rate of 500 stores a year, so here's hoping we won't have to wait too long.

This might just be what Zara needs to win that shoe battle against H&M...
