Marc Jacobs has finally confirmed the rumours and explained why he's leaving Louis Vuitton after 16 years of guiding luxury style. So what next?

The label needs to find a replacement.

Luckily for them however, we're here to help with a few suggestions of our own...

1. Nicolas Ghesquiere
The current front-runner and creative director at Balenciaga for 15 years, Nicolas can bring the drama. You want dark seduction? He was named avant-garde designer of the year at the VHI/Vogue Fashion Awards in 2000, and brought in Kristen Stewart as a muse before jumping ship at Balenciaga last November. This guy could make Louis Vuitton 'cool'.

2. Kanye West
Apparently back in the fashion designing game, this could the perfect opportunity for Kanye to show us what he's got. His bum finds its way to nearly as many FROWs as Anna Wintour's, he has a ton of lady-dressing practice thanks to giving Kim's wardrobe an overhaul, and as we all discovered last week, he is the original 'inventor' of leather pants.

3. Victoria Beckham
Oh wouldn't you just love it? Marc Jacobs replaced by his fashion bestie and a former Spice Girl no less. Though VB would have to shake up her love of pared down minimalism more than a wee bit, she does already know how to design a good handbag. Imagine Harper on the Louis Vuitton FROW. On-board now?

4. Henry Holland
Louis Vuitton does high end sophistication, Henry Holland loves a neon hue and put a 'Nana Rave' on runway at London Fashion Week last season. No, the two don't appear to blend seamlessly, but if LVMH bosses ever wanted to add some 'funk'? Well, we can't think of anyone better.

5. Vivienne Westwood
If Louis Vuitton loves a little avante-garde drama, who better to pick up after Marc than London's own Grande Dame? Though the label might have to embrace a more activist vibe and penis motifs, not to mention loosing the fur and animal skin handbags (problematic?), they'd sure as hell put on a spectacular show together. We wonder if Vuitton bosses are into modern dance...
