Though a Hermes Birkin bag could already cost you anything from £4,500 to £30,000, the French fashion house has announced that it'll be raising the prices of its leather handbags.
Set to kick in next year, the price hike has been blamed on dwindling supplies of high quality calf leather which, naturally, is a vital ingredient in Hermes' handbag production.
Talking about the planned raise, chief executive elect Axel Dumas has said, "You can indeed expect price rises, which as always we want to be moderate."
Though what Hermes bosses consider to be a moderate raise in a world where handbags cost more than small cars, really is anyone's guess!
