Selfridges is set to become the world's largest handbag shopping destination, thanks to new plans to more than double the size of its accessories department.
As part of the £300million investment, Selfridges has announced it will transform the ground floor of its London store into 'the world's largest and most comprehensive destination for accessories', with 50,000 sqft being dedicated to handbags alone.
Buyers will curate an impressive collection of handbag brands already said to include Hermés, Chanel, Céline, Charlotte Olympia, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Sophie Hulme, as well as high street brands and newly discovered designers too.
The bad news? Work is set to begin at the end of June this year, but won't be completed for another five years.
Still, that's enough time to implement a long-term saving plan in order to splash out come 2019, right?
