The amfAR benefit on May 22 is usually the crème de la crème of Cannes fashion, and this year there will be a red dress theme inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
Gowns have been created by all the big dog designers especially for the charity fashion show. From Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Dior, Givenchy, Christopher Kane, Gucci, Tom Ford, Prada...basically everyone who is anyone has designed a frock.
Organised by former Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld in aid of the The Foundation for AIDS Research, there will be around 40 top models in Cannes to present the collection.
The likes of Karlie Kloss and Toni Garrn will be flying in to walk in the fashion show. Also means we can look forward to plenty of Leo and Toni on a boat pics.
"Some of the girls come at their own expense just to be part of the show," Roitfeld told WWD.
The collection will go on sale afterward, with previous collections fetching $2 million.
Alongside the gowns, Sharon Stone, amfAR's global fund-raising chairman, also auctions off once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as a kiss from George Clooney and a photoshoot with Karl Lagerfeld.
However this year the tone has been lowered somewhat as lucky bidders could be fighting for a kiss with Robin Thicke. Oh. We'll just stick to the dresses ta.
