No this is not a dream or mere fantasy, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin really are two of the six designers hooking up with Louis Vuitton, for a special celebration of the iconic LV monogram.

Initiated by big boss Delphine Arnault and head designer Nicolas Ghesquière, the 'Icon and the Iconoclasts' project will see Karl and Louboutin joined by an impressive line up.

Architect Frank Gehry, Comme des Garçons founder and designer Rei Kawakubo, industrial designer Marc Newson and photographer/film director Cindy Sherman have all been asked to create a 'personally inspired bag or piece of luggage', to celebrate both the monogram and 160 years of Louis Vuitton.

Limited edition of course, the collaborative collection will arrive in stores mid October 2014, set to retail from (are you ready for this?) $2,725 to $5,450. Naturally, it's all part of the higher price leather goods strategy too.

Though Vuitton is keeping details of the collection top secret until launch day, we do know that Karl has invented something called the Punching Bag. We don't think it's fitness equipment.
