Meet Lupita Nyong'o everyone, the female star of Steve McQueen's acclaimed 12 Years A Slave, the face of Miu Miu, this month's Dazed and Confused cover girl, and the woman who just beat Jennifer Lawrence to the Critics' Choice award for Best Supporting Actress.
Round of applause for that lady, please.
So what's her deal? Born in Mexico, raised in Kenya and educated in the US, Lupita enrolled at drama school after a frank discussion with Ralph Fiennes, while working on the set of The Constant Gardener as a production runner.
After graduating in 2012, McQueen cast her in 12 Years A Slave immediately, earning her nominations for Best Supporting Actress at this year's Golden Globes, SAG Awards and most likely, the Oscars too.
So are you ready to see a lot more of Lupita Nyong'o?
