He wouldn\'t be able to get in straight away, even though we\'d used tampons or rode horses all our pubescent years in preparation, and there would be lots of squeaks and teeth-clenching while we tried not to look too petrified and pretended to him it was all fine.
2. We would not come

3. It wouldn\'t last very long

Just as we were over the initial shock of what was happening, and the pain was subsiding, and we were actually starting to enjoy ourselves, he\'d let out an almighty grunt and collapse on us.
4. It would be messy...

If we were stupid enough not to use a condom (why, oh why?), there may well have been \'stuff\' running down our inner thighs or over our Take That bedding and that big mysterious wet patch was where we\'d be expected to sleep.
5. Boys would do anything for sex

Young men wrongly assumed that they somehow had to cajole us into sleeping with them – like we didn\'t want to have sex for our own sake (like, durr!). Therefore they would do a lot for sex, so we should have capitalised on that and insisted they pay for the White Lightening and McDonald\'s.
6. True love it would not be

While we would always remember them and the experience shared, it would not be a story we tell our grandchildren.
7. Everyone would know about it the next day

He would promise that he wouldn\'t brag to his mates, but by mid morning he wouldn\'t be able to help himself. Half our girl mates would suddenly have more respect for us; the other half would start whispering when we entered a room.
8. Uncontrollable body noises

Flesh slapping on flesh, squelches and squeaks – basically all the bits that Jilly Cooper left out, would leave us mortified.
9. Afterburn

We\'d be walking like a penguin for a couple of days, and would wince when we sat down. We would have to try and pass this off as a bad back to our mothers, who would then offer us painkillers and a hug. We\'d be grateful of both.
