If you’re looking for a city break without the city then Runnymede-On-Thames is the hotel for you. Situated just off junction 13 of the M25 in Egham, Surrey, it’s ridiculously close to the centre of London while still delivering a relaxing open air experience. As the man and I only had one night child-free we didn’t fancy spending the majority of it travelling to our destination and so it was Runnymede to the rescue. Perfectly placed for people jumping a plane at Heathrow which is a mere few minutes away the service at Runnymede reflects the expectation of its international visitors. Without a doubt the service of the staff was the best I have experienced in our fair country. Warm and friendly without being intrusive Runnymede strikes the perfect balance. Even if you’re not on a stopover to somewhere hot and sunny Runnymede is a fantastic destination in itself with visitors enjoying a picturesque stroll along the river path or dip in the outside pool, not forgetting the treasure that is Aquitaine – the private spa suite.
