Become a ‘Burlesque Baby’ with Virgin Holidays
When the ladies over at Virgin called us up to see if we fancied trying our hand at some old school bump and grind with a private burlesque class we couldn’t dig out our feather boas quick enough. Inspired by Virgin Holidays burlesque advert star, the very lovely Kimberley Holladay, holiday makers can now get ‘the body behind the billboards’ by indulging their inner chic stripper with some seductive dance moves guaranteed to leave you hot and bothered. The free workouts are led by top burlesque instructor Sharon Kay, from the UK’s first school of burlesque – Burlesque Baby and she doesn’t mind if you have two left feet, she’ll even teach you how to stand still and simply peel off some gloves with a lusty dip of your hip. And let us tell you, it’s much harder than it looks. I signed up a couple more girls from the handbag office and off we went, heels a-go-go. Amid the giggles and awkward bum circles we learned to strut our (not-so-sexy) stuff, we even managed to shake a tail feather or two during the feather fan dance. Well, it was supposed to be sexy, judging from the photo that was the ambition if not the reality.
