When Kelly Brook announced her split from long-time beau Thom Evans, the news that she had returned to the arms of her ex Danny Cipriani ruffled a few Twitter feathers.
So, is the best way to deal with a break-up to start a rebound relationship? Or is moving on too soon a way of ignoring your heart ache?
Poor Thom barely has time to blink before Kelly was papped arm-in-arm with rugby player Danny on the most romantic day of the year. She even Tweeted a not-so-subtle snap of a massive bouquet of roses from a 'mystery admirer' on Valentine's Day. Ouch!
Although Kelly and Danny had obviously never quite extinguished the flame of passion, dating site Flirt.com has discovered that women rarely bounce straight into another tryst after a rough break-up.
According to their research, men love to go out and seduce other women after a split, while only 22% of women do the same.
But like Kelly 56% of men and women would happily post snaps of themselves with a new partner or acquaintance online in order to make their ex feel jealous!
Of all the people surveyed by Flirt.com, the vast majority said they wouldn't rebound with an ex for fear of a serious dating disaster and even more heartbreak.
And don't forget Danny and Thom were team mates - would you date your ex's work colleague or pub quiz contact? 71% of women wouldn't dare according to the research (in comparison to 51% of men who would date one of your friends).
If you're still harbouring feelings for an ex like Kelly, should you go for it and dump your current beau? Or should you wait until the dust settles before returning to the arms of an ex?
