Ok, so the world didn't end today. The Mayans got it wrong.
However with all this talk of the apocalypse, people couldn't help but question what it would mean if the world did actually end?
This can be used in a beneficial way to take stock before the New Year and set out your life goals.
Much like the old psychology exercise of writing your own obituary, set aside an hour of time to think about if the world was to end tomorrow – would you be happy with your life right now and everything you've achieved?
If not – what would make the difference?
Be realistic. Saying you would only be happy if you were married to James Franco and had the body of Jennifer Aniston is only going to set yourself up to fail.
But are you unhappy with your job? Would you like to lose a bit of weight? Is having the latest TV really the most important thing or do you wish you could spend more time with your loved ones?
Make a list and use that as your basis for your New Year's resolutions. It might help steer you in the right direction in 2013.
