Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James has been named as one of the most important people in publishing by London newspaper, The Evening Standard.
Their Most Influential People in Publishing list for 2012 includes some of the UK's most prominent writers, publishers and literary agents.
The Fifty Shades author now joins J.K. Rowling, Ian McEwan and Salman Rushdie as one of the most high profile authors of her generation.
E.L. has brought erotic fiction and the world of BDSM to the masses with her saucy tale of Ana Steele and Christian Grey. We don't normally encourage bowing to peer pressure...but if you haven't read it yet you're missing out on a cultural phenomenon!
Other new entries on the list include SJ Watson, for his first novel Before I Go to Sleep and Victoria Hislop who's first book, The Island, was a storming success.
