With New Moon out on Friday 20 November, we caught up with Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart to chat about reprising their roles in the movie and their relationship off-set.
Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are probably two of the biggest names on the planet right now. With The Twilight Saga: New Moon out on Friday, we caught up with the stars to chat about reprising their role in the film and their relationship off set.
In the film Bella (Kristen Stewart) is left devastated when the vampire love of her life Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) breaks up with her and moves out of town to try and keep her safe. The heartbroken Bella forms a strong friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) only to discover that, other than having a massive crush on her, Jake’s also got a big secret he’s hiding.
When asked about the huge role he plays in this film, compared to the first, Taylor was modest as ever, saying, “I definitely would say it’s a team effort. This is the beginning of the love triangle. Twilight developed Edward and Bella’s relationship, New Moon develops Jacob and Bella’s. It’s really setting up this entire series, this complicated love triangle.”
Talking about the range of emotions she had to play as Bella in New Moon, Kristen Stewart admitted she felt Bella’s character develops the most in the film. “I really feel like Bella grows the most in this particular book of the series, and it’s because she experiences those highs and lows,” she said, adding, “But it was exhausting.”
Discussing his relationship with Kristen Stewart off-screen, Taylor said, “Kristen and I have a relationship, outside of filming that’s very similar to Jacob and Bella’s. We’re very open and honest with each other, so that makes the process a lot easier.”
