Cameron Diaz in a black and white dress
Cameron Diaz is one of few celebrities that appear to have a healthy, balanced approach to diet and exercise, something that clearly works for her as her figure doesn\'t seem to have altered one jot throughout her 16 year career in front of the camera lens. To celebrate the release of her latest film, Knight And Day in which she stars alongside Tom Cruise, we\'ve rounded up the diet and fitness tips she sticks to in order to maintain that perfectly honed physique.

Cameron knows the importance of eating healthily most of the time in order to keep her weight in check but she still allows herself her favourite guilty treat in moderation and for Cameron, that\'s junk food. Whatever your favourite fattening weakness is, follow the 80:20 rule and allow yourself to indulge every now and again. Not only will it stop you pigging out and ruining your diet, you\'ll also enjoy every guilt-free mouthful that little bit more.

Cameron is not only super slim, she\'s also incredible toned, something which doesn\'t come naturally to anyone. In order to keep her body fat percentage to an absolute minimum Cameron does between three and five 45 minute sessions of cardio a week - that\'s what it takes to be that slim and that toned. Sorry ladies, there really is no other way.

Whilst cardio is great for burning calories and fat it\'s important to do lower impact forms of exercise such as yoga and Pilates to keep muscles elongated rather than bulky. Cameron incorporates plenty of Pilates sessions into her workout routine to keep those long legs looking lean and streamlined rather than bulky and tree-trunk like.

Cameron\'s trainer Teddy Bass believes women underestimate the effect regular weight training sessions have on their bodies, "Women need weight - it\'s great for building the butt." Try doing 20 reps of squats while holding two three pound weights and raising your arms while squatting down simultaneously.

Cameron Diaz surfing
It\'s no secret that Cameron loves to surf and as well as being a great calorie burner doing exercise outdoors is also a great way to boost endorphins and de-stress. While few of us are lucky enough to live within close proximity to a beach there are plenty of other outdoor sports that you can do anywhere such as cycling, running, walking as well as outdoor group fitness classes. Few women can get away with throwing whatever rubbish they like down their necks and still come out with a body to diet for at the end of it. To keep the love handles and cellulite at bay, Cameron sticks to a high protein diet eating lean skinless chicken for breakfast and steamed fish with a green salad for lunch followed by lean meat and vegetables for dinner. As well as being low in calories and saturated fat starting the day with a protein-based meal is a great way to stay full until lunchtime. If you can\'t stomach chicken, try having a mushroom omelette or scrambled eggs with a fresh fruit salad instead.

Doing the same thing day in day out is always going to get boring which is why Cameron always keeps her body guessing by varying her exercise routine. As well as surfing, Cameron is often found snowboarding, jogging and training on the elliptical machine. Constantly changing your exercise routine works different muscle groups and stops your body getting used to one workout so you\'ll burn more calories and improve stamina in the long run.
