In a twist

Plaits, pleats and twists were in abundance on the catwalks with an interestingly equestrian feel to the styles. Instead of simple buns the models wore elegantly elongated roped chignons, or ponytails twisted into long tails. Severe buns were seen created from plaited hair and then the more classical, romantic styles emerged with long tumbling waves being softly secured into a loose braid or hippie style plaits worked in at the front of a head of gentle curls.

Luella

The girls in the Luella show were treated to simple little girl style plaits, pulled back at the centre of the head accessorised with fantastically coloured ribbons and bows.

Bora Asku

With hair pulled tight to the head low buns were created with sleekly plaited hair. A severe look reminiscent of girls heading out on their ponies but a great look both for day and night.

Erdem

We love this romantic look worn by the models for Erdem. Think tumbling waves, loosely secured in soft plaits either side of the head before being pulled together at the ends. This style is perfect for a romantic date or a day in the sun with the girls.

Marios Schwab

As the trendsetters have been saying, equestrian inspiration rears its mane again with long ponytails being twisted instead of plaited for a much quirkier, edgier style.

Marc Jacobs

This simple but beautiful french pleat with the ends tucked under reminds us of elegant ballet dancers. Romantic and pretty this style is functional yet feminine.

Sinha Stanic

If you wear a fringe, fear not, this look can still be achieved as seen at Sinha Stanic where fringes were twisted and pulled off to the side, worn low over the eyes.

Nanette Lepore

A favourite look of ours, echoing the hippie boho style seen in recent years. This time round the hair is super shiny, healthy and glossy to the max with cascades of gorgeous curls finished with thin plaits worn long at the side of the head, framing the face.
