Finally the sales are coming to an end and spring colours are making their way back into our wardrobes and our make-up bags. Spring also calls for a change to the way we wear our hair too. The dark colours of autumn/winter are fading away to be replaced with bright and breezy shades of blonde. From creamy caramel and warm honey tones to bright, platinum white - blonde is back in a big way.

Don\'t think about putting away your heated tools though as the catwalk was awash with texture. Be it sleek and straight as at Donna Karan or brushed out crimped lengths at Diane Von Furstenberg or rough, matte braids at Alexander Wang. We\'re glad to see that waves are still big news with variations on a theme being seen across many catwalks. Dior sent the girls down the runway as modern day Veronica Lakes with polished retro waves, while the girls at Versace had the kind of luxe locks little girls dream about, with glossy lengths finished with big barrelled waves. However, the biggest trend has to be for the plait. The braid brigade fell into two distinct camps: sleek and tight worn like hair architecture as at Antonio Beradi or surfer girl chic à la Alexander Wang\'s models who sported matte, roughly textured plaits snaking over their shoulders. Gloss spray not required!
