Picture: For these gorgeous curls it is key to use a large barrelled curling tong (HQ hair.com have some good ones), to give a long flowing curl. Preparation is key to creating these curls and maintaining them for the day/night.

Spritz Charles Worthington Results Heat Defence Spray before blow-drying hair. Use a large round brush when blow-drying to add extra volume at the root and curl the ends, using the concentrator nozzle on the hairdryer will ensure that you give a smooth finish to hair with shine. To give the fantastic lift at the front of the face make sure the large round brush is placed near the roots and place the hairdryer up and out when drying to give fantastic lift.

Take the tong and curl away from the face to open up the face, spray Charles Worthington Results Max Hold Hairspray onto the hair before tonging each section, and work from back of the hair to the front. By misting hairspray on each section before tonging, it gives a stronger hold than simply putting on hairspray after curling. As you pull the hair out of the tong ensure you do this slowly and almost cradle the section with your hand to make sure you do not pull the hair out. By letting the section almost fall out of the tong slowly this will help the section to slightly cool whilst still in the tong and this will also set the style.

Apply Charles Worthington Results Expert Blow Dry Spray on roots and mid length, to add a volume tousled look. Lightly blow-dry without a brush to keep hair looking natural. Use a large round brush and the front and roots to give volume and a little height. Apply Charles Worthington Results No Frizz Serum to the front of the head for a sleek backed look and tie with grips to keep the height at the front.

Karl Lagerfeld - crimping

To achieve this start with clean hair, use a volumising shampoo and conditioner such as Matrix Biolage, then add some texture lotion (I like Loosely Defined in the Design Pulse range), then blow-dry the hair with a large ceramic round brush.

\r\n\r\n

Then take some large crimpers and starting at the nape of the neck, take one inch sections and spray some strong hold hairspray (try Matrix Vavoom) all through the hair. Then move to the root area and clamp the hair with the crimpers, holding closed for two to three seconds and release, then follow all the way through to the end of the hair section so the hair is slightly crispy. Repeat this pattern all the way through the head to the top so that every bit of hair is crimped.

\r\n\r\n

Next get a soft paddle brush and brush all the hair out, leaving you with a soft textured crimped effect. Then take a section from the two recession points on the head through to the back of the crown area, brush and twist and then secure with pins and grips, then repeat the same on the sides of the hair. Alternatively, scrape it back as if you were going to put it in a high pony tail but secure it underneath the twisted section, hiding the pony. Finally add some hairspray and tease the hair into shape.

Donna Karan - bun

This is a great style to recreate. Take your hair into two sections, divided from ear to ear. Using Organic Control Systems Spray Gel slick the back section with a fine to medium comb. Pull into a tight ponytail and smooth with hands and a little more Spray Gel, then twist the pony tail and wrap round in a circle, and place your first pin in at the end and randomly pin around the rest of the bun until secure.

\r\n\r\n

For the front section, spray with Organic Connect Systems Thermal 2 Twenty protection spray and blow-dry straight and smooth following with straightening irons. Sweep across the forehead and wrap into the bun again placing a pin in the end and a few more around. Spray with Organic Connect Systems Finale hairspray. Finish the whole look with Spray Gloss.

Proenza Schouler - textured ponytail

This look is a perfect example of how catwalk can successfully go high street without the hassle. Styling is easy: if you have a good natural wave - great! Use it. For the other 99% of the population simply wrap big sections of gently blow-dried hair around barrel curling tongs on a low heat (the heat is important, you don\'t want Goldilocks curls, you just want that smooth \'kink\' to the hair).

\r\n\r\n

Allow to cool thoroughly and really brush it out until it gets a bit fluffy, then gather it into a loose, low pony and secure with a bobble of a similar colour to your hair. Dust the hair with some mattifying dust and scrunch the hair at the scalp to loosen the hair from the ponytail and create width and volume. Finish by wrapping a piece of the hair from the pony around the band to obscure it and secure with a fine pin. It\'s nice when you can actually achieve a high fashion look on your own in minutes!
