Show: PPQ

It was clear that this young funky brand was going to need a super funky hair stylist to match it! They chose Duffy, whose long beard and wild hair might lead you to think he wasn\'t into hair at all - but boy you would be wrong! Super laid back and chilled out to the core Duffy wanted to create a top knot with some seriously urban style.

The key to re-creating this look for next spring summer is to move away from the ballerina style bun we all know and try an ethnic bun that sits right on the top of the head between the eyes. The higher the better, don\'t be afraid to try it! The material cover is also a great way to hide any untidy hair underneath which is a blessing in disguise for bad hair days.

What they used:
L\'Oreal Professionnel tecni.art Hot Style Constructor £10.20

Under control

loreal, hair, hairstyles, london fashion week PPQ hair backstage london fashion week
Keep it soft and fresh with soft whispers of hair gracing the hair line to give it a feminine finish. Hair spray is the key to this and so is a good Constructor Spray which Duffy swears by to keep the hair under control!

Show: Jaeger London

The hair for Jaeger was feminine with a hint of unruly elegance. It\'s known to most as Cloud Hair - that bouffant look that is often still wearable on the high street and looks oh-so pretty when done well. And who best to do this show stopping style and add his own twist to it than the king of hair himself - Sam McKnight!

Unruly elegance

Sam created a look that screams style but is also something we can adapt into everyday life. It\'s not going to be easy - but then looking über chic often isn\'t. Patience is the name of the game. Firstly you need to work some moose through freshly washed hair, rough dry it and create a straight deep side parting - spray and hold with hair spray and curling tongs to roll the hair to the roots securing the sections with a clip.

What they used:
Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Mousse £2.99 Boots.com
Pantene Pro-V Classic Hairspray Smooth £2.99

Add volume!

Once all the hair is tonged, remove the clips and brush out the curls. Then back comb sections of the hair to create that mega volume and texture. The trickiest part might be completely the look, Sam says ‘Tie hair with a slim hair band in a pony tail two inches from the ends and using the hairnet filled with hair extensions and shaped into a log, roll up the ends of the hair under and pin into place. Be careful not to flatten hair as this style is intended to look angular and texturised.\'

Volia! Give it a whirl we say - it\'s a fab pretty look for spring summer.

Show: Margaret Howell

International hair stylist Neil Moodie was the man behind the hair creation for Margaret\'s spring summer collection that follows a classic timeless look with a youthful, modern edge. Neil says the hair is all about capturing that sporty school girl within us all and giving the impression of a sophisticated rebel.

Unique style

Neil knows it\'s always important to prep the hair to keep it in great condition for a funky style. Add a styling cream to the ends and a thickening spray to the roots to help get the hair in order. The parting of the hair is clean cut and down the middle of the head and the knot at the back is low and just off centre to create a unique style.

What they used:
Bumble & bumble prep spray £12.50, hqhair.com
Bumble & bumble thickening spray £18.50, hqhair.com

Tamed rebel

Once you have your pony tail in place wrap the hair around the base of the pony and loop in, over and under if your hair is long enough. Loosen out the hair around the head to give it that messy feel but don\'t leave loose hairs hanging down or on your hair line. This look needs to have the self made messy feel along with its main theme of a stylish sophisticated rebel.

Bumble & bumble Does It All Styling Spray £10.50, hqhair.com

Show: Hemyca

Toni & Guy,hair, hairstyles, london fashion week Hemyca hair backstage london fashion week
The Toni and Guy team lead by Tim Furssedonn were the stylists back stage at Hemyca - an up and coming fashion brand. The inspiration for the look was taken from the golden era of Hollywood with some 1940s inspiration. The end result was simply gorgeous...

1940s glam!

Tim wanted to match the tailored look of the clothes by making this a glamorous 40s style top knot with a modern twist. The hair almost represents a hat on the head - really pretty and wearable. One of the tricks is to tong the ends of the hair once you have it in the ponytail to give it texture so its folds up into a lovely twisted top knot with sculptured style.

What they used:
Toni & Guy Curling Tongs, from £19.99
Toni & Guy Cushion Brush £8

Hat hair

hair, hairstyles, london fashion week Hemyca hair backstage london fashion week
Use pins to twist the hair and form the ‘hat\' on the top of the head secure with elastic and then spray heavy duty hair spray on top to keep it in place. The hair is supposed to look shiny so a shine mist is also crucial. Enjoy creating this really pretty glamorous look that is perfect for day and night...

What they used:
Label.m Hairspray £9.50
Label.m Shine Mist £10.50
