Nine hairdressing names preview the killer looks, key celebrities and comebacks for 2009...
\r\n\r\nGoing back to glamour and embracing a haircare ritual. Forget the once over with a styling iron, it\'s about good foundations with the right hairbrush and the right blow-drying techniques.
\r\n\r\nVictoria Beckham\'s \"what do I do with it now\" stage of her crop could see a seismic shift. Kelly Osbourne is going to be on our radar. Cheryl Cole going for the chop could start a stampede to the salon...

I love bold hair colour and now\'s the time to experiment with bright blondes and vibrant reds. Spring 2009 is all about ultra-matte hair with lots of texture: straighteners and shiny, sleek hair are so over. Experiment with your parting, my particular favourite is the centre seen on the runways at Calvin Klein and Anna Sui.
\r\n\r\nFor me Kate Moss gets better with age and Lily Allen\'s fearless and will continue to be experimental and influential.

Asymmetrical up-dos will be hot; face shape dictates how tight to pull hair back. Braids will be another key look. There\'s a move to short hair and braver cuts to open up the face so even if hair is longer a shorter sharp fringe looks amazing.
\r\n\r\nI\'ve been giving Marisa Tomei a clip on fringe as she promotes The Wrestler\' - just clip in and cover the join with an Alice band. Rock n roll blondes with roots: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Yasmin Le Bon and Natalie Imbruglia.

2009 will see the fringe morphing into backcombed quiffs with the sides tied back into tight pony tails giving the look from the front of an exaggerated flat top effect. We\'ll also see a lot more curl, dropped at the crown and super-sized at the sides
\r\n\r\nKate Winslet\'s tousled-meets-Tinsel-Town vibe. Neve Campbell\'s Organic Curl System\'s perm.

Short sharp looks or lots of thick extended hair. Darker colours, chestnuts, copper bases and shine. Tinted soft blonde bases with subtle streaks, and warmer honey bases. Gone are the days of a flat ashy blonde.
\r\n\r\nEmma Watson, move over Harry Potter, it\'s time for Chanel magic. Karen Elson will be a catalyst for a big copper comeback for those with a pale skin tone. Kylie\'s always one to watch.

The dominant trends emerging are texture and minimal looking hair - keeping it simple and off the face. The catwalks depicted a more subdued look, with styles staying close to the head. Hair assessories supply added adornment, the 80s sweatband is reinvented.for the iPod generation.
\r\n\r\nStrawberry/auburn blonde tones as seen on Scarlett Johansson and Joss Stone. Trend setting royalty Kate Moss and Jennifer Aniston\'s warm blonde tones will be hot hot hot!

Hair this season is understated yet confident, sleek, healthy and ultra-groomed. Short hair will be massive, reflecting the challenging economy and the new, more austere financial climate. Colour will be glossy and dynamic, sheer rather than stripy.

Modern, pared down and moody. The frame of the cut will be equally as important as the finish. The trend for texture will continue to dominate

There\'ll be a definite trend towards going glam. The bigger the hair the better and heated rollers and hot irons will be essential. Prepare for some serious retro backcombing and styling!
