Accessory overload

From bowlers and beanies to bobbles and bands, next season is officially the age of adornment. Taking on a mix and match approach, juxtaposing textures are key to tackling this trend. "Go for accessories but use current fabrics like denim or leather on a more traditional lady-like updo," says George Northwood, creative director at Daniel Hersheson. At Erdem leather bands were paired with plaited buns, patent leather added a dominatrix slant to the chic updos at Lagerfeld, while at Prada knitted headbands gave a nod to the upcoming knitwear trend. For a real style statement, swap your summer bows for extra large pom poms, as seen at Sonia Rykiel or do as the Moschino models do and rid yourself of bad hair days with a Stetson.
