Heidi Klum turns rock-chic for Project Runway

The key to a good quiff is blow-drying and backcombing. Always easier to create the day after you\'ve washed your hair (especially for super-fine locks) spritz in some salt spray or dry shampoo at the roots to add volume and for a not-so-perfect finish, ditch your brushes and use your fingers to comb through the hair instead - it will give a more raw, rock-star finish.

To recreate the look, add rollers at the crown of your hair and set with hairspray, or for quick-fix volume, try your hand at backcombing. Don\'t be afraid if shorter strands fall loose when you sweep the hair back and remember, the more tousled and toned down it looks, the better.

A clear contrast to the ‘60s style Alice bands and rollered quiffs we\'re so used to seeing her with, recreate the look using a tail-comb, bobby pins and some seriously strong thickening spray.
