Last night Viola Davis picked up the Best Actress award at the SAGs, for her starring role in The Help. Now, we loved that movie, but we also wanted to give Viola a prize for her great hairstyle – her dark hair was swept back in Marilyn Monroe-style soft curls. This short style looked elegant and pretty, while referencing Hollywood movie stars of times gone by. The curls were slightly undone, which gave the hairstyle a romantic look, while the cut and length suited Viola’s face shape perfectly.

An elaborate up-do, featuring curls, a vintage comb and a peroxide blonde quiff, this was one hairstyle that made serious impact. Much has already been said about Rihanna’s cheeky sheer dress on New Year’s Eve, but what really caught our eye was her gorgeous curly ponytail. Soft tendrils at the front keep the look safely away from the Croydon facelift and the overall effect is pretty and girly.
