Being a colour virgin does not feel very cool in today's colour creative world, but I've quite enjoyed being au naturel for the past few years. It's saved me buckets of money as well as giving tresses a well deserved break after years of colour experimentation.
But this new semi-permanent colouring system caught my attention as it's targeted at people who don't usually colour their hair or have started to see first signs of grey (that's me!). Interest gathered pace as subtle tones, glossy locks and no re-growth were promised...
The Hob Salon, in the heart of trendy Camden in London, was where I was at; a slick and refreshing place where Christel, the colour-loving hair technician, weaved in and out of my hair like it was second nature. Being open minded about the style of colour meant she was able to blend Color Touch Plus with other Wella dyes to create something modern, with some depth and dimension.
Developing times have definitely improved since the last time I reached for the bottle and I was under the hair heater for less than 20 minutes. The rich chocolatey tones used, added a warmth that my natural dark brown-black hair lacked and a few strands were added through the fringe that peek through when swept to the side.
The results were glossy and impressive as hair doesn't scream "I've been dyed!", making it great for people who want a subtle boost and shine, rather than obvious colour change. Best of all, no roots to dread, just a touch up next month and I finally get to use all the colour care products I've had my eyes on!
