babyliss hair wand
Tousled curls and waves have been gracing the heads of many a trendsetting A-lister since spring 2009 and they\'re here to stay as the 80s trend takes a backseat for laid-back 70s style. Unless you\'ve been blessed with a head of wild curls, achieving this year\'s must-have hair trends may need a little extra help, so we\'ve tonged, teased and wound our hair round every hair curling tool out there to bring you our top five tools for creating flowing natural curls in time for spring.
\r\n\r\nBabyliss Curling Wand
\"This curling wand is my favourite way to get curls and waves with ease. What I loved most is the thin end works well on my short hair which curling tongs often lack. I wrapped small sections of hair around the wand tightly for corkscrew curls or just once for a kink or wave. I never once burnt my fingers when using this and got results every time. It\'s just so easy!\"
Best for: short hair.

yogi hair wand
\"I\'m a great tong user but sometimes find the curls they produce a little regimented when all I really want is a loose, beachy type curl. The tourmaline and ceramic barrel on this wand heats up very quickly and left my hair feeling really soft and shiny. With an extra long and swivel cord I found it easy to curl the hair all around my head and not just at the front where it\'s easy to reach. The only thing I would say is that this is not suitable if you have shortish hair as you may end up burning your fingers bit more than usual and would probably be better off with a standard tong.\"
\r\n\r\nBest for: mid-length to long hair.

remington hair straighteners
\"Specially designed to create straight and curly styles the Sleek and Curl has teflon ceramic tourmaline coated plates which glide easily through hair, great if you have thick locks prone to tangling. These irons also get really hot so they give quick results which really last, and the curved sides are great for creating flowing curls and waves, much easier than standard hair straighteners. I would definitely recommend this tool for getting relaxed waves and subtle curls rather than a full head of tight curls.\"
\r\n\r\nBest for: long, thick hair.

babyliss diffuser
\"I have thick, curly hair cut into a bob so volume is pretty important to my look. This diffuser from Babyliss has a particularly large diffuser attachment - something most manufacturers don\'t realise is important - which helps to create great, soft curls with minimal effort on my part. After drying my hair with this dryer my hair stays volumised and styled all day without giving into frizz.\"
\r\n\r\nBest for: curly or wavy hair.

nicky clarke hair tongs
\"This is the first time I\'ve used such a slim curling tong and I must say I\'m impressed. I\'ve never been very good with the clamping down and holding part of using tongs, but these were light and easy to handle. They worked well on adding waves and tight curls to my short hair as the narrow tong meant I could get right to the roots of my hair. What\'s more at £17.99 it\'s an affordable way to get spring curls.\"
