Hey Austin
I have very thick very straight hair which has lots of volume is very long and is in pretty good condition however, I desperately want a soft big curl in the ends of my hair.Rollers and tonged curls drop out easily as my hair is so heavy, how can I achieve this look?
Thanks
Jess
Hi Jess, I'd recommend perming your hair on large rollers and in addition, taking some of the weight out with layers will prevent the curls from dropping.
Hi Austin,
I have grown out my short hair with sideboards and choppy fringe as I don't know whether to leave it that bit longer over my ears unsure if this suits me as I have quite a receeding jawline now as I am in my late fifties I still like to look modern but not mutton, can you recommend a style to opt for.
Kind regards
Christine
Hello Christine, keeping your hair longer and the outline sharper will compensate for the receding jaw line.
Hi Austin
I have very thick curly fizzy hair. My hairdresser is recommending having this treatment (Brazilian keratin treatment) but I don't want my hair to be straight just to lose the frizz and have loose curls. I don't know enough about this product to see if this would work?Could you advise me please?
Sarah
Hi Sarah, I would most definitely suggest that you speak with your hairdresser and ask to see hair that has experienced this treatment before making your decision on whether or not to have it done - it's definitely not something to just do on a whim!
Hi Austin
I'm getting married in 4 weeks and I need to sort my hair out. I have blonde foils on top and my natural brown underneath, when I go to my hairdresser to have it redone she doesn't add enough foils and she always colours the full length of my hair instead of just the roots which as you can imagine my roots are ginger and the rest is blonde I look like a multicoloured skunk ! What can I do to get my blonde all the same colour and preferably at home I don't mind being the blushing bride but I don't want to be blushing of embarrassment of my hair. Please help I'm desperate.
Thanks
Kirsty
Hi Kirsty, I would only recommend speaking with a professional on this matter, home colour can be risky at the best of times but seeing as it's your wedding day coming up (and what woman doesn't want to look her best) I would be sure to go and see an experienced colour technician.
Hi Austin
I am 56 and suffering from fluffy hair. It is fine and still quite thick. I have never been able to have a 'bob' because my hair doesn't swing. With the increasing amount of grey (covered with colour) it is more and more difficult to get a good result. Thickening shampoos leave my hair like Brillo. Hydrating and anti frizz shampoos work but humidity makes my hair even more fluffy. I don't do bed head styles because I look like a bag lady but I don't want a lacquered style as it is just dated.
Help please!
Jan
Hi Jan, it sounds like you have hair that is best suited being left fairly closely to its natural state. Steer clear from bobs (which are likely to be too heavy). Instead try soft layers and work some label.m curl cream through the layers to fight humidity and achieve a smooth, soft curl.
Hi Austin,
My hair has changed in texture since having children 5 years ago. It's mid length with a strange 'layer' 3 inches from the bottom after a misunderstanding with my hairdresser. This doesn't help matters at all as it bulks out in a strange fashion at the layer and then is wavy at the bottom. I like my hair when it's 3/4 dry and not so bulky, it also has a nice wave to it then. Once it's dry it just goes crazy, big, bulky and very fluffy. I have little time to spend taming it, but would like to wear it down more often. Any tips would be gratefully received!
Best wishes
Jo
Hi Jo, keeping your hair heavy can only make things worse, wavy hair rebels against weight so set it free with more layers. This will bring out the natural texture allowing you to not stress about styling as you can let it air dry.
However using the right products is essential, label.m curl spray will calm down frizz and leaves hair feeling light and natural.
