Hi Melissa
I have had the same hairstyle for quite a while now and I really fancy a change. I want to go for something a bit edgier and possibly a lot shorter as I have medium long hair and I have quite a long face shape. What would you suggest?
Thanks
Kate
Its hard to give good advice without seeing you, as all styles depend on your lifestyle, hair texture and features. However, with the information you have given me, I would suggest trying a fringe as this will work well with a long face shape, then bring the length up to the chin and shape through with a low graduation.
Hi Melissa
I have dyed my hair a total of seven times this year and also have had a perm on it. My hair is so damaged and I don't know what to do with it. I really love long hair and I don't want to cut it off. I straighten it often and the split ends are so bad I can't do anything with it. What do I do?
Cheers
Jess
If you have really dry and damaged hair try using a shampoo and conditioner that is designed to put the moisture back in. My favourite at the moment is head&shoulders Damage Rescue which is like scalp and hair rehab in a bottle; it looks after your scalp and hair, meaning you can carry on straightening without the worry. On weekends also try an intensive conditioning treatment that you can leave on for a few minutes and use a heat protective spray when using heated tools.
Hi Melissa,
My hair is so boring and it is really starting to get me down. At 48 I fancy a complete change. At the moment it is dark brown layered, shoulder length and is extremely thick with a slight curl at the ends. I never straighten or blow-dry just wash and go. I am looking for a low maintenance style which won't cost the earth to keep it looking its best as money is a problem.
My face is long and I wondered if a bob parting on the right would suit me and have it cut to my jaw and shaped at my neck - would this be a good choice in your opinion? I have just started wearing two behind the ear type hearing aids - so thought a short bob over my ears and shaped at my neck would partially hide my aids although I don't mind them showing a little. Any advice or guidance would be extremely welcome.
Kind Regards
Lorraine
With very thick hair, taking it short in to a bob may not be the best idea as it can become big and too heavy. I would suggest keeping it a tiny bit longer with layers to remove the weight, and then shape through the front to form a great style.
Hello Melissa
I have really thick, frizzy, wavy/curly course blonde hair. I've tried everything to tame it, and usually end up spending an hour straightening it. How can I define my curls or can you recommend any quicker styles I could try.
Thanks
Sammy
There is a way to define thick, curly hair - when your hair is damp, section by section run conditioner through it and twirl the hair around your finger. Then leave to dry naturally; this will give separation and also ensure your hair has a treatment, making it soft and more manageable.
Hello Melissa
I got my hair cut with a fringe and they cut it too short but it's growing out now. How long should I wait before I get it cut to a side fringe as I had it styled before? It has been growing for one month, and is now below my eyebrows. I'm worried about it being ruined again.
Thanks
Annie
Your fringe should be at a good length now but to be on the safe side, wait two more weeks and then it should be fine to cut into a side fringe - also make sure you're clear with your stylist that you want to avoid a short fringe again.
