TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, Taylor Swift and Miranda Kerr are all back on the ballet barre

She's a lean, mean, toned machine, but we kinda' expected The Only Way is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh to be punishing herself on the treadmill not chilling in the ballet studio.

The fitness freak and founder of Results With Lucy Instagrammed this snap of herself stretching in a ballet workout.

Once we got past the skin-tight hot pink and black leotard, we started thinking about all the other famous females who've taken to the barre recently, including Taylor Swift, Miranda Kerr and Natalie Portman.

Natalie got the buzz after all that hardcore training for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan, while Miranda Kerr took up the fitness fad as an extension of her yoga regimen.

Doing an hour of 'good toes, naughty toes' might remind you of childhood dance lessons, but there's actually a very good reason why celebs are taking to the barre in adulthood.
