A mouthful of ginger can actually prevent and treat the inflammation that causes a cold (a bit like a decongestant tablet). Winner.
But if the idea of drinking pure ginger makes you want to cry inside, try whipping up a steaming pot of ginger, honey and lemon tea instead.
Just thinly slice about one centimetre of fresh ginger, place it in a small tea pot and cover with boiling water for about five minutes. Once it's brewed add some lemon juice and honey to taste. Job done.
Cold, do one.
