Intermittent fasting became the diet craze du jour last year when Dr Michael Mosley discovered the incredible health benefits of drastically restricting calories for short bursts.
According to Dr.Krista Vraday, author of the 4:3 Every Other Day Diet book - the most effective method is to fast for four days with three days off and then reverse the following week.
We understand there's a whole load of science to the 4:3 diet, but here's why we're not convinced...
Why the 5:2 is better than the 4:3 diet
1. Two days per week is way more manageable giving us plenty of quality gin time in between.
2. Fasting for four days in one week means it's almost guaranteed to ruin either Friday takeaway night or Saturday big night out. We are not okay with this.
3. Alternate day fasting means we can't swap days when something rubbish happens at the office.
4. We will never ever remember whether we're in the four and three week or the three and four week.
5. Did we mention gin days?
